Hey guys I would really appreciate if you assist me with this issue.

1)I acquired a citizenship around 2007.
2)I got a name change for my middle name shortly after: [First Name] [New Middle Name] [Last Name], but didn't bother changing it on my citizenship card, but I changed my driver's license, health card etc.
3) Now I absolutely HAVE to go to europe at the end of july but I do not have a passport and I have a citizenship card with an unchanged wrong middle name.
4) I submitted all the documents for change of name on my citizenship card in the beggining of May, but I have no idea how long it'll take.

What are my options here? I know that applying for a passport requires proof of citizenship, but I sent in my citizenship card (the one with the wrong name) for a name change. How long would this take? Would I have time? Say I messed up on my name change application and they return it...can I apply for passport with my wrong middle name?

PS: name change documents on citizenship card were submitted ~ 4th of May and my deadline for the trip is July 20

A fast reply would be GREATLY appreciated :)

How about your other nationality (before you acquired Canadian citizenship in 2007)? You can use your passport from any countries (not necessary Canada).

If you really want to apply for a Canadian passport, you can always phone CIC at 1-888-242-2100 to check the processing status of your citizenship card.
