Change of Location during PR process

Hi folks!

I hope all is good!

I received my CSQ in September and I applied for the federal stage of PR beginning of October 2014 at Sydney, NS.

I'm expecting my AOR in a few days. At the same time, I'm starting an internship in Switzerland for 5 months. Would my application be transferred to Paris if I leave Canada? or would it still be processed in CPP-Ottawa?

Does anyone know if the process will be faster if the file is transferred to Paris (compared to CPP-Ottawa)?

The process will not be faster and might take longer. Your application will be processed at Ottawa regardless of your current address, if you have applied under CEC, which I am guessing you have not and you have gone through federal skilled worker programme.

If you are changing your living address I most definitely advise you to update CIC on this. For passport request, MR, etc. and last stages of PR.

After you receive your AOR you can change your residential address on ECAS.

Why in Paris if you are going to Switzerland?

1. Unlikely to be transferred unless it is for "integrity of the program"
2. Because Paris is the office responsible for Switzerland
