I just applied for permanent residency for common-law. The application just went in and should take over 8 months. My boyfriend was considering going to school, but we are not sure whether this will effect the application process. He got accepted to a program in the fall and the application will obviously take longer. Should he wait to go to school until we hear back from immigration?
