Hi Everybody,
I have a question, i was working for company ABC> Business name> DEF for past 1 year and few months and they just got bought by the new owner and now company's name is DEF Group INC the staff and management( ceo and manager) hasn't changed does that mean i am gonna have to show two different reference letters (one from company ABC (DEF)and one from company DEF Group INC ) ? i would really appreciate your help!

One reference letter which shows the latest company name should be fine. I am assuming your duties and responsibilities still remain the same.

If they can mention in the reference letter about the name change (or the period you were under ABC) it would be great, but not mandatory. If it is not mentioned in the reference letter, then prepare a Letter of Explanation for the same and show any documentary evidence (if you have or is available in public domain) for the name change (as part of being acquired).

under express entry(work history Tab) should i change the name of the company from DEF to DEF Group INC ?

Preferably, keep it separate with applicable dates, show different company names, but same designation and NOC codes, but one letter would suffice for both.

Hello

Just registered on this forum and looking for advice from seniors.

I was working for a company from August 2015 to January 2016. I was hired by XYZ and have a reference letter stating my working tenure. But my pay profile was under a subsidiary company (ABC) until Oct 2015 and then my pay profile was transferred from ABC to XYZ in October last week. This is reflected in my pay-stubs and T4's.

The reason for this being company was in the process of migration and ABC was bought out by XYZ and ABC has ceased all it's operations.

I have reference letter from XYZ stating my working tenure (includes ABC working tenure too) and also company provided my explanation letter mentioning the change in pay profile with required dates.

I have a question in work history tab.

1. Should I create 2 entries in work experience tab (under express entry profile) or 1 would suffice. Please note I was hired by XYZ. ABC has ceased it's operations and is no longer in existence and XYZ has provided me reference letter with my working tenure (includes ABC working tenure too)

Hey Stanlee,

I had the same situation. I did the same. I put only 1 reference letter from current company and an explanation LOE.

However, I did not put separate entries for both companies, instead I put one entry with Original starting date (hired date by old company) and current company name. (since letter is from current company)

I put both offer letters in my LOE which shows (kind of evidence) that I am still working my current company which acquired the company who hired me.

Sounds okay? my BG and Eligibility checks are 'InProgress' on my application (9th Nov, 2016 AOR date)

@OMG_Chakromakro - Let me know if I can help as I mentioned I was in same situation.

Hi vishal23489 I have did the same as you mentioned and Company has provided me with explanation letter mentioning ownership change.

Hello everyone, I worked for a startup company for one year in 2017. In 2018, company has changed their name, location and website. I have all the documents with company's previous name and address. What should I do to get points for this experience? I am still in contact with the previous company.
