Change of Citizenship during Application Process

Dear All

First the facts:
- My wife is Korean citizen.
- She is in the process of getting the Austrian citizenship.
- We are in the process of applying for Canadian Residence Permit. The online application is not sent yet.

Now, what happens if her citizenship changes DURING the application process? Is there anybody who has experience with such a case? Would it be a big headache, or simply a matter of "by the way, here's my new passport"? Should we wait with the online application until the Austrian citizenship is finalized?

Any thoughts and input are warmly welcome, thank you!

Nothing will happen. You can get on with your life and acquire any citizenship you want. Just raise a CSE and inform CIC about the change in nationality and passport number. You may need to upload the bio pages of the new passport so that it matches the COPR when you are issued one.
