Best to correct the address as soon as possible. If the applicant is not reached in a timely way ultimately the application can be refused.

Was this an inland or overseas application that was submitted since that may affect the situation?

I'm saying that if CIC is unable to reach an applicant to direct them to do something that eventually, after reasonable efforts are made, the application may be declared abandoned which would equal a refusal. It might be considered non-compliance.
