Change in Study Permit Number After PGWP Application – Can I Still Work Full-Time?

Hello everyone,

I need advice regarding my Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) application.

Situation:

• Nov 21, 2024: My study permit extension was approved.
• Dec 3, 2024: I applied for a PGWP and received work authorization.
• Jan 9, 2025: I contacted IRCC because I hadn't received my physical study permit.
• Jan 10, 2025: IRCC notified me online that my study permit number changed, but the expiry date remains the same.

My PGWP application references the original study permit number. I'm concerned this change might affect my PGWP approval or work authorization.

Questions:

1. Has anyone experienced a study permit number change after applying for a PGWP?
2. Do I need to update my PGWP application with the new permit number?
3. Can I still work full-time while waiting for my PGWP decision despite the permit number change?
