So I have been asked to send my passport to Delhi Embassy for stamping by end of this month. I am planning to get married in 3-4 months and it cannot be preponed. WHat should I do? If I go ahead with just myself for PR, what are my options later for my wife? I read about some temporary work permit while a person has PR application on wait.

You can't go ahead by yourself. If you land while married without informing cic and changing your copr you won't be able to sponsor her ever. If you land before marriage as single as in do a soft landing, you can sponsor her (sponsoring takes over a year). If you both want to move better add her to your application (return copr, inform cic and get the next steps done) I'm not sure about the temporary work permit considering people have been waiting over a year to sponsor their spouses. They would've all done that in the meantime instead of being separated.
