I applied citizenship.....today received a letter from cic....YOU HAVE REQUESTED THE NAME.........ON YOUR CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATE,TO SUPPROT THIS REQUEST,PLS SEND US A PHOTO COPY OF PROVINCIAL ,TERRITORIAL IDENTIFICATION SHOWING THE EXACT NAME..EXAMPLES,HEALTH CARD,DRIVERS LICENSE OR AN OFFICIAL SCHOOL RECORD......I got married but didn't change any of the following documents stated above.....what about if I will not change or just retain my single family name ,is there any problem about this? anybody here can help me? somebody the same experience?...thanks

If you're not planning to take up your spouse's surname then you probably don't have to change any of those ID cards.

Expect CIC however to ask whether some personal info you have on your application has changed since the time you applied (example: civil status, employment, home address) when you're interviewed during testing day.

thanks for reply....that's why I gave the marriage contract bec I want to change my family name.....and I thought that's enough as a supporting document.....I phoned cic but the lady not sure if I can retain my single family name and write explanation letter...
