Hi there,

I have already sent a paper application in order to remove a restriction from my PGWP for work in schools/healthcare.

However, as I am looking to speed up a process (jobs interviews), I was wondering if I could do a flagpole. I have all the documentation including the medical exam.

I read on the forum that some people successfully did it. My questions is, if I have a receipt of fees paid to CIC, will I have to pay again while flagpoling? Also, what will happen to my paper application? Will it create any confusion once CIC starts working on it in Alberta?

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I am considering going to flagpole this weekend at Rainbow bridge at Niagara Falls.

Yes - you can flagpole. However the medical exam needs to be completed and processed before you do so (and updated in CIC's systems). Once you complete the medical, you should wait 2-3 weeks for it to be processed and the results recorded in the system before you try flagpoling. Having documentation to prove you've taken the medical won't be enough.

Thank you very much for your reply scylla!

I completed the medical three weeks ago and the doctor confirmed she would upload the results within a week so I should be good.

However as I just sent in the application last week, will they be able to retrieve it/stop it from processing in Alberta? Or should I send some kind of a letter to processing centre?

I think I will bring mailing receipt showing address with me and of course the payment receipt.

Thank you for all your help!

Thank you.
