Do I have any chances to extend my visa as a visitor? I came in July and my visa expires in January . I am visiting my sister and nephew, and they will be moving next year to an other city. My sister ask me to stay to help her during this time,as they do not have any other close relatives to help them..but I do not know if I have any chances to extend my visa for other 6 months. My sister and brother in law will support my financially and pay for my return ticket.I do not want to waste time and money for the extension of my visa if there are not chances.

Success in applying for an extension is never guaranteed; there are equal chances of refusal/denial and of grant of an extension. :)
Nevertheless, what you are to apply for is to extend your current stay. Start here and read on: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/extend-stay.asp

Note:
Implied status

If you apply to extend your permit, and your visitor visa expires while you are waiting for a decision, you still have temporary resident (visitor) status. This is known as implied status.

If you follow the recommendations - filing 30 days prior to the end date of your current stay gives you implied status and can continue to stay in the country until you get back the results of your application for extension. Hopefully, during that time, your sister's family is in the midst of the move such that you have enough leeway to act when the results of your application comes back.
