chances of rejection after eight months and medicals.....!!

i just wondering is there any chance that application can be rejected after eight months of waiting.......!!???

enquiry e mail says your application in process..........!!

but nothing on ecase apart from application received and medicals reaceived...........!!

i got message from MP office ..... background checks are going on..........!!

i am under the same condition ... my medicals sent on 18/09/2011 ( more that 5 months) and till now i am getting on the web " processing "

even it was not written medical received .... i am also worried ....

pls advice me : my immigration can be rejected after sending the medical reports ? is it a bad sign to wait after medicals more than 2 months as i was informed from the consultant ?
