I have done my MS in mechanical engineering from the US and I am currently working for a major auto manufacturer in the US. I am planning to opt for Canada PR this year. What are my chances of getting a job in Canada? I am an Indian citizen and would be interested in hearing from people who have gone through a similar situation.

Sorry no personal experience but US experience helps especially with big companies. US education in good schools helps even more. Obviously being licensed in Canada and in the province is also important. Would also say language skills are also something employers look for when hiring new Canadians.

Thanks for the response. When you say language skills, do you mean French? My English isn't bad, but I don't know French unfortunately.

No English skills (written and oral) and the ability to be understood in the case of a strong accent. French of course is beneficial and almost required in some areas of Canada but definitely not required in most of Canada.

English language proficiency through getting a good IELTS score for example is a prerequisite of the PR process for all PR applicants, native English speakers included. French only if trying specifically for Quebec although being bilingual can be a plus in any province.
