Hi does anyone know what the chance is that ITAs would be issued for 379 points.. Also how long does a submission into the 'Express Entry pool' stay valid for?

Thanks

No one knows. Unlikely to come down to that level in the near future given that lowest cutoff so far was 453.

1 year.

Thanks

Your profile is valid for one year. Its hard to know for sure whether you would get ITA on 379, lowest draws so far were in the mid 400's

No chances

even it looks tough to me with 461 score. So 379 is still very far as they are very unpredictable with draws and after including EE related PNP from different provinces, there is a slim chance with 379 for 4-5 months. May be after that you have a chance but it all depends on them. Hope it comes down very soon.

I am riding in the same boat. I think we should look at PNPs and a job offer with LMIA. Chances are bleak otherwise. Good luck!

Going by the past ITA trends and the current scenario (impending elections, oil prices etc), the conditions aren't conducive for all of us below the 400 mark. But, we never know.

My understanding is they have to take in around 2,80,000 for the year.

Points have come down from around 800 to 453 and roughly around 10000 have received and ITA. (including those with PNP ).
What is the logic that it wont come to even 300 to accommodate the remaining 2,70,000 ?? (if they are serious about the 280000 target)

Is this 2,80,000 for EE only? And what exactly does this number stand for? Total number of people to be granted PR (i.e. landing at a PoE)? In that case, you'd have to consider last year's non-EE applicants as well, because many of them will do their landing this year.

280000 is what the Canadian High Commission states its intends to take in this year- PR, but yes many will be from the old system (not EE). From what I hear, the pace should pick up next year for EE

Yes they are serious about 280k immigrants target for 2015. They are under scrutiny before the parliament.

Out of 280k, 130k will come from FSW, FST, CEC, of which many of them are applied in 2014 under old rules (remember they take 14 months for CEC to process) and a few will come from earlier parts of this year under EE system.

Based on the fact that 2 months max to apply after ITA, 6 month process time, and 6 month max to land, only people received ITA Feb thru June will land in 2015, thus be included in the 130k target of 2015.

We will not know the 2016 target until CIC reports to the parliament (I believe it's in November of every year)

Well said. Also, if we are to consider that they do have such a huge target, the points are likely to drop. Lets see. lets see.

that 280,000 isn't individual PR's, it also includes spouses and dependents. so say a family of five land, thats 5 spaces not just the one PR from the one application.

I would think the chances are quite remote at this point. There will be thousands of 700+ candidates entering the EE pool in the coming months with the new OOPNP (plus other PNP's and LMIA's). It's possible there may not even be another draw below the 600s. If you're on 379 then you're in touching distance to 400 and almost elligible for OOPNP, best bet is to try and boost your points
