Hi experts,

I am wondering if I have been living in Canada for 17 years, now, I am back to my hometown for 2 months. I don't really like living in my hometown, and want to go back to Canada. Do you think Canadian embassy will issue me the visitor visa to re enter to Canada? What would be the good reason for me to apply for visitor visa? What documents do I have to provide to Canadian embassy? I am back home because Canadian immigration will not re issue visitor visa within the country. My lawyer asked me to leave Canada and re apply visitor visa back from my hometown. What would be the chance of getting it?
I am applying Canadian permanent residence.

Please advise.

It depends on if they consider you a risk of overstaying. If you spent the last 17 years. in Canada, I suppose you do not have strong ties with your home country so that could cause you to be seen as a risk to overstay.
