Hello everyone,

The guide says the person certifying the copy of the original (in my case, it's a birth certificate in Indonesian) must write the name of the original document on the certified true copy. Can someone specify what they mean by "name of the original document"? Do we simply write "birth certificate" in English or must it be the Indonesian word for birth certificate found on the original document?

Thanks!

All your original documents what you have to subbmit along with your application need to be translated word by word and then these translated copies need to be certified by a public notary.

yes this i understand. it's this part in the guide i'm asking about:

"To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.
Who can certify copies?"

see the bolded text above. "name of original document".

i am assuming that the notary will put the indonesian name of the document. not the translated name. correct?

To be safe, I would put both languages: the Indonesian for 'birth certificate' and then (birth certificate).

Hi Prince sultan, I am confused with the same question posted by you regarding the name of the original document. Is it important to specify the " name of original document " at all? It is already stated in the document that has been photocopied. Is there a need to repeat it by the notary? Thanks!
