According to https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/apply-permanent-residence/scan-upload-documents.html

When translating my birth certificate, I need to provide:

"a scan of the original document, or a scan of a certified photocopy of the original document that the translator worked from "

Since I sent my birth certificate to the translator by email, I presume that I will have to go to the notary and have them certify the document they send me back printed together with the translation?

I am even more confused what am I supposed to do with my girlfriend's birth certificate, since hers is purely electronic and never was printed in the first place. Am I just supposed to go to the notary and show them the birth certificate on a phone or what is the right approach here?

Thanks for clarifying as I find this very confusing.
