Hi,

I was wondering if all photocopies that I hand in will have to be certified?
For my birthcertificate for example it only says "photocopies" on the guide. Will it have to be certified?

Thank you!

Dear,

If your original document is in English or french then you can simply take a photocopy and submit (provided the CIC has not asked for original)

If the document is not in english or french, you will have to submit three artifacts:

1. Translated version of the original document.
2. Affidavit from the person who translated it (do not need this if you are getting it translated from certified translators)
3. Certified True copy of the original document (in regional languange)
a. How you can achieve this is - Take a photocopy of the original document. Go to Noatry with both the documents. The notary will compare both the documents. He will write on the photocpy that 'This is is a true certified copy'. Put the name of the document. SIgn it. STamp it.Date it.....
