  1. Hi All,

I am an International student. Working as a Lifeguard/Swimming Instructor at City of Mississauga. I have the License as Lifeguard Instructor and Swim Instructor from Lifesaving society Canada.

Can anyone advise if am I eligible for this?

Do you have a certificate of qualification from a Canadian province, territory or federal body?

    Kindly advise,

    Thanks
    Ch

Because your job isn't a trade nor one of the approved NOC's
But under NOC 5254, Skill Level B my job “Swimming Instructor” has been listed and the roles and responsibilities are the same as mentioned.

You're really going to go down swinging eh?

As your NOC is NOT a trade it doesn't matter if it is NOC 0, A or B. Only these NOC's qualify and grant points for a certificate of qualification:

  • Major Group 72, industrial, electrical and construction trades,
  • Major Group 73, maintenance and equipment operation trades,
  • Major Group 82, supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production,
  • Major Group 92, processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators,
  • Minor Group 632, chefs and cooks, and
  • Minor Group 633, butchers and bakers.
You are free to say "yes" to such question but once you select your NOC the system won't grant you any points.
