Hi everyone, I applied for Canadian citizenship about two years and seven months ago and waited for one year and ten months to get an email to do the test I did the test and passed it I got 17 out of 20 I have been waiting for 10 months for ceremony and I tried to call immigration of Canada the said you have to Wait i said all my friends did the test and after two months they sent them to do the citizenship ceremony except me I called two members of the parliament and the they everything is good with your application you have to wait they said your application in niagara falls office does anyone can give me any advice what to do please and thanks

Ugh Niagara Falls seems to be moving really slowly lately. When was your DM? You should email them (reply to the test invitation email) and ask about your oath date. And if you don't see any progress in another couple weeks, you might want to consult a lawyer about filing Writ of Mandamus.

Apart from writing to MP / webform there is pretty little that you can do to influence the speed of the process. From application in Oct 2018, I became a citizen only in Mar 2022. So my sincere advice is to not lose sleep over it. Do not compare your case to your peer group - their circumstances will not be the same as yours.

Unless the lack of citizenship is preventing you from taking up a job or impacting your life in any significant way, don't worry too much about it as it is out of your control. In case of an urgent issue, your can apply for urgent processing with documentary evidence and then again, wait for the outcome.

Writ of Mandamus is not a cheap option. It takes time and a significant amount of money without a guaranteed outcome. If you are considering this route, there is a separate thread to follow for those considering it.
