I'm currently a study permit holder international student and i came to canada last year August (2019). I'm eligible for CERB as i lost my job due to covid-19. If i apply for CERB then it would create trouble for my future applications (i.e. Work permit n pr application). Because i have one doubt regarding it, as i shown enough fund to survive for 1 year during my application for Visa. But i lost my job due to extreme circumstance of covid-19. I was told by CRA that they have no information about it suggested to contact IRCC. But i was unable to contact ircc helpline as they closed it due to same reason. Please reply with appropriate answer

FYI - IRCC has rejected PGWP . their explanation - our previous records show that you provided sufficient funds for your education in Canada as per your study permit validity for 2 years. there is an ambiguity as to why you applied for cerb.

I could see the VO's reasoning behind it though. None of us predicted a pandemic but then again, Study Permit (or any temporary resident visa) was approved based on the sustainability of the applicant on their own funds throughout the length of the study and not on the governments emergency funds made available during pandemic regardless if they were working part-time or not or were eligible under an ambiguous student clause..

Look at the following comment:
No authentic evidence of rejection due to CERB ..so don't panic .. so wait for official word on this from someone in authority..
