I have applied to immigration from Canada (provincial nominee program). I was in Canada sine 2009, came as a student and now I am on work permit.

I got an email from Centralize Intake Office asking for additional document ( Certified criminal Record from RCMP) and required to have the criminal record withing 60 days

I completed the form C216-C through Edmonton Police Service.

I checked the RCMP website and the processing time for Criminal record check Fingerprints submitted by a police service or accredited fingerprinting company is 18 months , which is more than 60 days the period given to submit the paper required.

While electronic finger prints take 3 business days. please advice if I can go through the electronic finger prints

I have another question, do I have to submit the finger prints to RCMP in Ottawa or to Centralize Intake Office?

Thank you for the help

I did a certified criminal record check and it took my local RCMP 3 business days to process the whole thing (including fingerprints)

this website helped me identifying how to go through the process. It is easy and simple and no matter what the case is it will NEVER take 18 months whatsoever

good luck

Where from you did electronic fingerprinting? Also the form Form C-216C is not available online. Where did you get it from?

I got two forms at the local police station. The lady asked me do you want fingerprints as well? I said yes! So she gave me another form to fill. Then in 3 business days I received the record check and I sent it along with the application

Well for my case it was a paper one because I asked for it at the spot. The RCMP mailed me the record and I included in the application. But for your case you can ask them to forward it directly to CIC. They have a mailing address at the link I gave before that includes regular and courier mailing addresses for the checks
