CELPIP test score validity: How is the 2-year period calculated?

Hi everyone, I took CELPIP on August 20th, 2022 and the result came out on Nov 5th, 2022. I've seen mixed information on what the two-year validity means on the internet.

The IRCC says:
Your test results must be valid (less than 2 years old) when you:
  • complete your Express Entry profile
  • apply for permanent residence
The Express Entry profile is valid for 12 months. Make sure that your language test results are valid for the same time period.

1. How is the 2-year test score validity period calculated? Is it 2 years from the test date or the issuance date?

2. If I've created an EE profile on August 1st, 2024, and if my CELPIP test result expires on August 20th, 2024, does that mean I don't need to take CELPIP as long as where my EE profile is valid for the next 12 months?

Would really appreciate your help!

1. Test date
2. If it expires on August 20 then it expires on that date. Having a profile doesn’t make it valid. So retake the test.

Hi All,
I have received an ITA under PNP. However, my language results will expire in next 20 days.

1. Does the language results need to be valid through out the processing of the PR application?
2. Do I need to retake the language test and submit with new score or is it fine if I submit with my current score and no need to retake the exam?
3. What is the chance of IRCC asking to retake the exam and how much time they provide while processing?
4. Anyone submitted the application and their language results expired immediately after getting AOR and then received PR?
5. Does Immigration officer considers the submission date of the application?

Please help.
Thanks

The test results should be valid on the date of the application submission.

Thank you for the reply.

So, what happens if my language results expire just after a week after my submission? I'm new to this process.
Will the immigration officer raises any flags or asks for retake? please confirm if there are any previous cases like mine.

Thanks

Nothing. No retake is required after the submission.

Thank you for the quick reply.
Say if they process my application after couple of months, you mean they are aware that my results expired after submission and considers the submission date?
Just trying to understand if any application was refused due to late processing.

Thanks

Sorry, I guess, I have already answered. I don't know how to reword it again.

The language test results should be valid on the day of your PR application submission.

Once you have applied, you get locked-in: your age, your language test results, etc.
