I applied PR in Nov 2010 under CEC adn i left Canada in May as my PGWP expired and could not get an LMO . So my question is can i stay away from Canada till my PR is confirmed ?? I moved to USA . Here is my Time line

I am not sure how long will it take to get passport request ? Any one have any ideas , kindly share .

Yes, you don't have to be in Canada. Just update immigration where you are now so they know how to reach you.

As far as I know, the most recent PPRs from Los Angeles were for people who applied in July/August 2010, so 11-12 months total. So I'm afraid you'll probably be waiting until October or November.
