CEC - Worked 13 days in 12 month experience period under implied status

Hi guys,

I am applying for my PR next week. I completed one year on November 13, 2014 (from Nov 13, 2013). My post graduation work permit expired on March 20, 2014 because my passport was expiring. I applied for my post-graduation work permit renewal during February 2014 and it only got issued on April 03, 2014. During this time I was advised by CIC that I was ok to keep working as long as I had applied for a renewal and was waiting for an answer.

Can anyone advise me if the days between (march 20, 2014 and April 03, 2014) count towards my 12 month experience for applying?

Would appreciate any help or advice.

nope , Dates will be counted under Implied status and it doesn't count i believe under experience .

I believe they should count.. since ur on implied status and ur existing status is just extended till a decision is made on ur extension application

To further the explanation..

"Work experience acquired while under implied status will be considered as eligible work experience under the CEC, provided the applicant continued to work in Canada under the same conditions as their original work permit until a decision was made on their application for a work permit extension."

can you pls share your wp extension details.. what did u study? duration of the program? as well as the duration of original PGWP and then the extension.. one of my friend is in same scenario and would need extension on 1 yr PGWP.. thanks

I did Bachelors in Science - was a 4 year program.
was given an initial work permit from August 26, 2014 to March 20, 2014 (because passport was expiring)
I applied for renewal (was a paper application and took 50 days almost) and got PGWP till Aug 26, 2016

oh ok.. cool..
does anyone know if say someone does a 12 month program (8 months study + 4 months coop) and alrdy got 12 months PGWP plus 3 months off campus wp.. is it possible to get a work permit extension given the person has worked 5 months part time and have 9 months FT.. is it possible to get wp extension since they hv a job contract for another few months n then they will be eligible for CEC?
