Hello everyone,

I am missing a few months of work experience and I would like to use my CSR experience at the bank to fulfil this. Although my job title is a CSR, I have been assigned duties that are beyond that and would qualify under NOC B.

I have 2 questions:

1. Can my manager provide the Letter of Reference? This is my direct reporting manager who hired me. Or does it have to go through HR.

2. If I can justify my duties with the support of my manager, would this work experience qualify?

I understand that with banks, there are strict structures. But I would like to know if there is any way I can get a fair representation of my duties and apply with this title.

Thank you in advance to all your help!!
:)

Direct reporting manager is preferred.

Based on the experiences reported in this forum, it will be difficult for your "extra" duties to be accepted. The letter will have to be very strong - even then it may not be accepted if there is a big gap in title, wages, etc. Understand that CIC may call the employer to verify the details. If you are being "exploited" (doing a higher level job without the appropriate title or pay), it is potentially embarrassing to the employer, so he/she may not want to put it in writing.
