Hi,

I am preparing for my CEC application to be sent off in Nov 12 (my official 1 year mark). My work permit expires on March 27 2015.

1) Will I have enough time to get my AOR to apply for an extension/bridging of work permit?

2) As far as the Background declaration, I am not sure as in I am IIROC licensed registered investment representative. Do I have to say I am a member of that assocation?

Thanks.

Based on current processing, Applicants are receiving AOR after 75+ days from the received date at CIO. So, when you say 1 year, check completeness of 52 weeks. If you are good then you can submit application ASAP.

2) As far as the Background declaration, I am not sure as in I am IIROC licensed registered investment representative. Do I have to say I am a member of that association?
I think, commonly answer is NO but not sure about your case. Just provide more information so that senior people will respond to you.

Thanks.

Thanks for the prompt response Kiranmayi .

My case is that I work as a Registered Investment Representative (1113) in a big 5 discount brokerage. Licensed national wide to do trades, licensed with IIROC. Does that deem me as a member of IIROC?

For declaration of background form, additional questions:

1) Interpreter declaration, do I need that to be done? I do have a mandarin name but that is not on my official citizenship of Singapore. Should I indicate my mandarin name on page 1?

2) National identity, do I use my Canadian Driver's License or my Singapore Identity Card?

I have an additional question, as far as the supplementary travel documents.

1) Do I have to indicate day trips to USA?

2) Do I just indicate my entry dates where I filled out the I-94W card?

Furthermore, Singapore's official language is ENGLISH, MANDARIN, MALAY and TAMIL. Do I still have to get my language test done?

Thanks.

Best answer is check NO. We all did same even we have some sort of Identification in our birth country. It is not mandatory though.

3) Do I have to indicate day trips to USA?
Yes, you need to mention all travels to any other country that you made from your country of birth and residence.

4) Do I just indicate my entry dates where I filled out the I-94W card?

For 1) and 4) , please wait for others to respond because I never seen that since I have single name in my country :)

You do still need the language test, yes. As principal applicant only. Dependents do not require language test

I had to do it and I'm English ;D

Be careful not to apply too soon. One year is the MINIMUM requirement, and your letter of employment needs to be dated AFTER you complete your 1 year. Do your self a favor and give it an extra week or two. You should have enough time to get the AOR for the BOWP...

You can find lots of people in Canada which even though they were born in Canada and lived here all their life know at most 100 words of English. Therefore being "from an english speaking country" means little nowadays.
