CEC Qualify in my Case

I have a PGWP and have worked for a retail store as a Manager for a year and currently employed but doesnt qualify for the skilled work. My question is am i eligible to apply for CEC. I have a two year diploma but due to various circumstances had couple of drop semester between them. It took me 3 years to finish it. Will it qualify or no for the application.

Thanks for all the help. I am running short on time as PGWP is expiring on Dec/2012. If i dont qualify what would be the best option.

As long as it's a 2 year program(minimum of 8 semesters), it should meet CEC education requirements for graduates. If the 1 year of experience as a Manager was full-time(minimum 37.5 hrs/week) and skilled, it should qualify for CEC. Remember, you must have also worked for at least 12 months.

Continue looking for skilled work since any hours you get will count for your CEC application. You also can ask your employer to apply for a Labor Market Opinion(LMO) but find out first if LMOs are approved for unskilled work. Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply. My NOC code is 0621. and i did work for 1.5 years( full time) for that particular company. My present company wont get a LMO.

So it should be ok as long as i can prove i have a 2 year diploma irrespective of how many gaps and time it took to complete.

To be on the safe side, get a letter from the school that indicates it's a 2 year diploma or if your graduation certificate/diploma says so, that's fine too.

I do have a letter from the college and also an extra diploma copy. will that be ok

It should be as long as it's clear that yours is a 2 year program. Make sure you use the correct NOC(i.e. one most consistent with the main duties and responsibilities of your job). Best wishes.
