CEC proof of Funds Qstn

Hi Guys

I will be making EE profile in 1st Week of MAY. Can anyone tell if we need to show funds under CEC and how much it is ?

Proof of funds isn't required under CEC, but whatever amount you claim in your EE profile must be proven. Example: If under your EE profile you claim 2k as funds for your living expenses, after ITA you must provide banks statements to back up your 2K claim. Everything you enter in you EE profile must be proven after ITA is received, in addition to providing documentation for CEC PR application.

My understanding is: There will not be a section "Proof of fund" in CEC forms. If you are applying thru CEC, you will not be asked for POF. You will, however, be asked for POF if you apply thru FSW, which requires POF.

The box in EE profile was to determine your eligibility in FSW, it's not meant for CEC. (Although you can be eligible for both, even you have no intention of applying thru FSW)

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

Whether you fall under FSW or CEC this above condition applies.

Unforuntately, that is not proving true. Quite a few of us, I'm under FSW, were asked for PoF. I have a job and a LMIA in Canada and was asked to show PoF. So, it's best to have the info on hand.

Even I am a FSW applicant. I have job offer with LMIA and currently working in Canada. It asks for funds. But doesn't have to be minimum as per cic guidelines. I have declared less amount and till now processing is going smooth.

Also, if you do not have a valid job offer and your PoF answer says that you have more than the minimum required funds, the system qualifies you for both FSW and CEC. On the other hand, if your proof of funds is less than minimum and you don't have a valid job offer, the system qualifies you only for CEC.

I was just going thru CIC links and it says candidate has to meet the conditions
1. Authorized to work in Canada
2. valid job offer

As I understand, there is no difference between CEC and FSW, if you don't have "Valid job offer". Both ways you have to show funds-

In other words, your job offer is valid, whether you are working in Canada or not, if your current or prospective employer:

has made an offer to give you a full-time, permanent, non-seasonal job if you are accepted as a permanent resident, and

has a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment from ESDC.

Correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Anyone else want to weigh in on this? Do you just have to provide the proof of the amount you declared in youyour EE app?
