CEC-Photocopy of your visa for the country where you currently live

I am working in Canada and preparing documents for CEC. On the check listing section 4 travel document or passport: it mentioned that if you live in a country different from your nationality, include a photocopy of your visa for the country where you currently live.
My question is my entry visa expired, but I am holding a valid working permit. Do I have to renew my entry visa before I submit my CEC application? or just give them photocopy of my expired visa. Did any one get the same situation as mine?

Thank you very much.

Include a copy of your expired visa as well as a copy of the page showing a stamp when you last used the visa i.e. your last entry into canada. Explain that you have not renewed the TRV because you have not needed to travel out of Canada (If you don't intend to write a cover letter, you could just attach a paper to the checklist and indicate that you are providing more info about Canada entry visa, or probably attach the explanation to the copy of the expired visa...not sure exactly where to attach the explanation. All they want to know is that you entered Canada legally.
