Hello everyone,

I might not get my PR before my PGWP expires (July 2013), so I would need to apply for a new work permit.

I am now changing from a job skill level B to skill level C. (job C is at a company I've always wanted to work, kind of a dream job and also they pay more!. My actual job title is skill level 0; I thought my duties would be skill level B as my previous job with same title but what I actually do is level C, merchandiser) So I'm going from merchandiser with assistant front store manager title to customer service/ sales clerk.

Is it true that the company must show efforts of recruitment when the position is skill level C, even if they are on a PGWP? I know they don't have to when employee is on PGWP, but I read that only applies for positions on skill 0, A and B. Is this true? for my new job they would have to show effort of recruitment for 3 months?

Now that I'm here, instead of making a new thread I'll just go ahead with my second question.

Does applying for PR under the family category (spouse) will give me an implied status? Or I still have to apply for work permit with LMO? My girlfriend said it if worse comes to worst but I'm not sure how that part/process or implications a spouse sponsorship relates to an implied status.

Thanks to all in advance.

yes, this is true. This is only for Skilled Worker applications.
http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/intstugrad.shtml

"In cases where the employer is making a permanent job offer to employees who have completed the PGWPP for employment in a skilled occupation (within National Occupational Classification 0, A and B codes only), the employer will not be required to demonstrate recruitment efforts. "

For a skill level C job they would have to follow the application procedures for a Skill Level C job in your province, if available in your province (not all provinces participate in the Lower Skilled program).

No. However, if you apply as an inland applicant, once your sponsor's application is approved, you would be eligible to apply for an open work permit. I have no idea how long it would take to get one, you should post this question in the family class forum.

I just need to confirm something I am in kind of same situation

I was hired by my employer in Engg. Administration team and I was told if I do good they will transfer me to something according to my education (I am have a Bachelor of Technology degree outside of Canada). Now I have been transfered to Project Controls Team but my position is still same (Engg Admin Assistant) which is a NOC CODE "C", they are willing to apply for my LMO but not willing to change my position as they have to do transfer my dept and some other stuff.

They put up an advertisment for me (2 weeks) and they are sending my application today , btw i am on Post Grad Work Permit,

They do LMO all the time so they have told me even though I am in NOC Code C, its all good, and I saw documents posted by one of the members and it is some kind of guildlines for employer hiring under C or D

So I just to want to confirm even though I have NOC Code C job with Post Grad work permit, Do i still have a chance to get an LMO??

Work experience classified as unskilled is not accepted under the CEC program.

LOL, you are writing in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) forum. It is one of the programs through which you can apply to become a permanent resident. It is for those who have skilled work experience (NOC level O, A, or B) in Canada.

There is another forum for foreign workers, for questions on work permits -
