CEC or FSW if you qualify for both...Please advice !!

Hi, In my Express Entry profile I qualify for both CEC and FSW category. I am working in Canada since Jan 2014 on an LMIA exempt Closed Work permit (ICT). So I have Canada experience for almost 3 years. I want to be invited as a CEC candidate.

I have read many post regarding CEC applicants are processed faster than FSW. Is there any way to get invited for only CEC and not FSW.

Would appreciate any input on it!! Thanks in advance.

I believe they automatically pick CEC as first choice. You won't have a choice which you are selected under.

Change the amount of funds below the requirements of FSW so you will be ineligible for it.

I think i should lower my funds so that I qualify under CEC only. Is it true that processing of FSW candidates is longer than CEC?

I hadn't heard that there was any difference, however in theory they dont require to look at proof of funds, so that might be a few days faster

When express entry first started, if an applicant qualified for both, they received an invitation for FSW. Since March 2016, this changed, so that CEC is now the "default" program.

FSW is generally a more complex application, so yes, it takes longer to process, or at least it used to.
