Hi guys, I have a question which probably not very common, my employer send me on a business trip overseas for 5 months, does that 5-month period eligible to be accounted for the one year experience needed for CEC?
Thanks

It should if your employer is a Canadian company.
Does not hurt to call CIC and check with them as well.

Nope. Work experience for CEC must be in Canada. Sorry for the bad news...

Thanks for the bad news anyway, but do you think an explanation letter will help, something like I was working for an public Canadian company with Canadian colleagues, etc.

Don't speculate about these. Either call CIC if possible or consult a lawyer to confirm.

Canadian Experience Class (CEC), not Foreign Experience Class Working for Canadian Company (FECWCC).

The idea is that you've lived here, managed to hold a job and adapt to the culture/environment both professionally and socially.

:) just so! The experience has to be IN CANADA. Unfortunately, those 5 months will not count...
