CEC Invitation to Apply Job Offer Concerns

Hi,

My husband applied for PR in August 2020 and we got an invitation to apply a week after submitting our application. He's been working as an Application Developer in an IT company for more than a year now and in our application, we indicated "yes" for the question, "Does (husband) have a job offer?"

I have read from a number of posts here that a valid job offer should indicate that he will be employed by that employer for at least a year after receving PR. The thing is we are not sure if he can get a job offer from his employer indicating this statement. When we were reviewing our CRS score breakdown, we noticed that we didn't get any points for arranged employment, which we believe requires the valid job offer.

My question is, since we didn't get points for arranged employment, will there be points deducted from our CRS score if we can't submit a job offer stating that he will be employed for at least a year after PR?

We only have until November 20 to submit all our required documents.

Please advice. TIA.

check your score breakdown, if you got 50 points for job offer but won’t be able to substantiate it, you won’t be able to claim points for it.

if you don’t need those 50 points to get invited, I would suggest removing the job offer from your EE profile.

Under the Additional Points here are the points earned:
French Proficiency or Bilingualism 0
PR or Canadian Sibling 0
Canadian Education 0
Arranged Employment 0
Provincial/Territorial Nomination 0

I don't see any Job Offer criteria to earn points. Do you know where I can check if we earned points for job offer?

I just checked our profile again and we didn't earn any points for the job offer. Can I just edit the answer to the question, "Does (husband) have a valid jon offer?" to "No"? Do we need a letter of explanation for this? Thanks!

Just change to No. it won’t change the composition of your CRS anyways.
