Hi Friends,

just wanna find out if i qualify for CEC ?

I have ~1600 hrs of work Experience in Canada in 10 months
Noc: 1224

Do i have to work minimum one year to be eligible ?

The requirement is to get BOTH.

A minimum of 1 year and 1560 hours of work.

1600 hours in 10 months will not be considered meeting the requirements for CEC.

OP 25a (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25A-eng.pdf), section 6.3, "Full-time work". In particular:

Work experience must be acquired over a period of at least one year; work in excess of 30 hours per week over a shorter period cannot compensate for any shorter overall period of experience.

so if you finish 1560 hours in part time in less than one year,

Can I count part-time work toward the work experience requirement?

You can count part-time work toward the work experience requirement, as long as you were not a full-time student at the time.

However, you must have gained the equivalent amount of experience as someone who worked full-time for at least one year (1560 hours)

It means you cannot work for less than a full time worker (min 1 year) and part time usually means min 18h but less than 30h (count the numbers, even working 29h you wont get 1560h)- I thought it was obvious

Though agree with "yixiaop26" , not very clear with part time requirement how ELIG is calculated .

dell2 if you are working full time , as of now you are not eligible and I guess part time too. correct me if I am wrong for part time.

you can apply under EE , if you think EE is really really bad for you, you can try PNP.

EE requires that you be eligible for one of the programs (FSW, CEC, FST), all of which require at least 1 year of skilled work experience.

I've applied for nomination in Dec2013 till now no answer. Ainp is useless . I'll try EE only.

So if you are eligible for AINP you will get it soon. The cap for 2014 has been reached for Alberta nominations so rest of applications have to wait for 2015. The processing time is at least 12 months so you might get your nomination even in January.
With Alberta Nomination you will get Invitation to apply for sure

12 to 25 months depends of category
