Looking for advice on my situation.
Coming up to the end of my 2 year employee sponsored LMO which ends August 1st.
My renewal was rejected so I will not have a work permit as of 1st August.

I have just submitted an application through Canadian Experience Class.

Is there a type of work permit/ bridging visa that I can apply for which would allow me to stay here on implied status until my CEC is (fingers crossed) approved.

Thanks!

Yes - you can apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) once you have AOR (confirmation your CEC application has been received and accepted for processing). I believe it's taking approximately 2 months to receive AOR once the CEC application has been submitted.

Note that to qualify for the BOWP, your current work permit must still be valid at the time the BOWP application is submitted.

Thanks so much for your help- would I be able to get the work permit based on a positive acceptance of an AINP application?
I submitted this in early April but someone told me that CEC might be quicker?

Thanks

It is the same rule for all major PR programs, FSW, CEC, PNP etc. the first stage of approval is needed after which you could apply for Bridging Open work permit.

If you have received that for AINP probably you can. As far as i know, probably AOR i.e. first stage of CEC is quicker.
