CEC IELTS query

Hi to everyone,

I have a friend that need some verification about his ielts, he took the exam last month and got;

Listening-5.5
Reading-4.5
Writing-5.5
Speaking- 6.5

Is this good enough for CEC with NOC 8253? Because he got confused when he asked a immigration consultant, they tell him to retake IELTS.

Please give your advise.

Since your friend gained his skilled work experience in Canada in a NOC B job, he must meet the minimum level of CLB 5 in either English or French for all four language abilities. I believe he is eligible to apply. Here is the Language testing link.

Yes! the scores qualify for CEC

Thanks for your response, i do believed he's eligible to apply, i just thought that there's some changes regarding the language requirement for CEC as he's consultant saying about. Now, he might look for a new credible immigration consultant.

Was the immigration consultant telling your friend that hs is ineligible to apply only based on his IELTS scores or was there any other reason?

He's consultant said its better to have at least 5 of on each category, since i knew before that if you have 4,5,5 and 6 will be okay. Then after 5 to 10 mins talked, he's consultant asked for 100CAD! What a waste!
