CEC hours per week / hours per year Question

I read that in order to qualify for CEC, I need one year of full-time work. Which means I would need to work at least 30 hours per week and I would need at least 1,560 hours in a year. (Source: cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/cec.asp)

But I work without a fixed schedule, at my job I have busy weeks where I'm working 30 to 50 hours, and sometimes slow weeks where I'm not getting more than 20 hours. The amount of work varies. It depends on a number of factors out of my control.

If after 12 months of work, I gather more than 1,560 hours. Do I still need to have proof of 30 hours of work per week?

If lets say, in July, I have 3 weeks of the month with 50 hours of work each, but one week with only 20 hours, would the month of July be considered invalid for CEC application?

Thanks in advance :)

You can't carry over extra hours.

Any weeks where you work 30 hours or more count as 1 week. So regardless of whether you work 30 hours or 50 hours in 1 week - the week is only counted as 1 week.

For any weeks where you work less than 30 hours, you should add up all of the hours and then divide the total by 30 to determine the number of weeks you have from part time work.

Taking your example... If you work 3 weeks in July for 50 hours each and one week with only 20 hours, the three weeks with 50 hours will each count as 1 week. The week with only 20 hours will count as part of a week.
