I'm a university graduate from Canada, and am currently employed for a job with over 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
One of my counsellors have informed me that as long as I achieve over 1950 hours of employment, I can apply for CEC application.
However, another counsellor tells me that no matter how many hours I work, it has to be 52 weeks, 1 full year on calendar.

So, in a summary,

counsellor A says: I need over 1950 hours of work experience, meaning, as long as I meet the hours, I can apply even if it took me less than 1 year to accumulate the time.

counsellor B says: No matter how many hours I work everyday, it doesn't matter and only when I spent 52 weeks being employed, then I can apply. (so I can end up having, for example, 2600 hours, 10 hours per day for 52 weeks.)

I'm very confused and can't really figure out which is true.
Could someone please clarify this information for me?

Has to be a full calender year, in which you worked a minimum of 1950 hours

You need to fulfill both criteria, 1950 hours AND 52 weeks. If you complete 1950 hours but you haven't yet completed 52 weeks, you must wait until the 52 weeks are up before you can apply. If you complete 52 weeks but do not have 1950 hours yet, you must wait until you have 1950 hours before you can apply.

Avoid counsellor A. This guy clearly didn't read the guide carefully thus shouldn't even pretend to be an immigration counsellor.

CEC work exp length requirement for canadian graduate is work full time for at least 12 month. 37.5 is only the definition of full time provided by CIC. As long as you work 37.5+hr/week you are considered full time and you will only need to work for 12 months. If you work less than 37.5 hr/week then you will need to work for more than 12 months to accumulate the minimum hour requirement.

Think about how GPA is calculated in university, at UofT if you get 85+ then the GPA for that course is 4.0. If you get 100 in course A and 70 in course B, the average percentage grade is 85, but the average GPA will NOT be 4.0, it will be 3.35. You cannot transfer the "extra" percentage from one course to another, just like you cannot transfer the extra hours from the months you worked to the months you didn't work.
