CEC for Postdoctorate - Express Entry

Hello,

I am hoping to gain some more insight regarding CEC, and this new express entry option. I had posted on here previously, but I want to confirm a few things.

A friend of mine is a postdoctorate in the psychology department (experimental psychology). 2 years full-time work experience as of September, great English abilities (though has not written any language tests yet). The majority of her work experience is research, publishing manuscripts etc, but is also working as a professor this semester.

I went back to the NOC codes to see what codes she classifies under, and previously, I had thought there was an NOC code for postdoctorates...but I am finding one for a university professor. Is it acceptable to use the University prof NOC code, even though teaching experience on this postdoc is only going to be 4 months of time?

In addition, it is acceptable to be applying for this PR class from within Canada while on a work permit, correct?

My friend doesn't seem to think they are allowed to apply for the CEC class, because it is for people trying to get into Canada, and they are already here on a work permit. A website spouting the facts would help dispel this for my friend.

Thanks so much!!

My condition: I am a foreign postdoctorate with a valid work permit. I applied PR under CEC class last year.
The NOC code is 4011, which is exactly university professor/lecturer. The only difference is that you need to provide your duties and responsibilities according to your own conditions, instead of the items provided by the NOC. The items are only for your reference, not requirements.
Great English abilities are not acceptable unless a test is taken. Since you can only apply via EE, the test scores will influence your points.
Of course it is acceptable applying within Canada under CEC with a valid work permit.
The requirements of CEC class are 1:English ability (IELTS or CELPIP test scores are required), 2:eek:ne year or more work experience in Canada (O,A,B categories), that's it, except for those requirements in common (police clearance, no forbidden diseases, etc.). So I believe your friend is eligible. Just opposite to your friend's opinion, CEC is designed for the people that have experience in Canada, not for those who apply from abroad.
However, since EE is the only current possibility, high points would be much more helpful. Being eligible is not enough now.
Hope my reply would be useful.
