Hey guys !
I finished 12th grade from India (don’t cringe),
Finished a 2.5 year advanced diploma program in Canada (5 semesters but my completion letter says 3 years program).
I have an IELTS score of 8.5 overall.
I have a B level job offer as Quality Assurance Associate in Ontario.
By selecting my education as 3 years, I make a total of 474 points considering, I work in this B level job for 1 year.
Questions:
a) will my 2.5 year education be considered 3 years or 2 years in my express entry profile or crs points calculator ?
b) is it a smart move to stay back in Ontario and take my chances with CEC or move to another province ?

a) Based on the completion letter, this should be counted as a 3 year program.
b) If you have 474 points then you should have no issues being selected for PR (receiving ITA). Make sure you are not counting 50 points for having a job offer unless your employer has obtained an approved LMIA.

It doesn't matter if your job is LMIA exempt or not.

I'm assuming you are on a PGWP after finishing your education in Canada. Assuming that's correct, the only way you can claim the 50 points is to have an approved LMIA.

To claim the 50 points without an approved LMIA, you would need to be on a closed work permit that has your employer listed.

Ha I see, this sheds a lot of light.
Now that doubt is out of my head forever.

Thank you.
