Hello everyone,

I'm very confused and frustrated as I started my EE application back in Nov 2020. After registration, it said I'm eligible for Skilled worker and Canadian Experience Class (I have over 2 years of full time Canadian work experience in level B from July 2017 and my CELPIP test in done in Nov 2020 with 11s and 12s scores). I checked my EE application yesterday and I noticed 6 points got deducted after my birthday (Jan 18th! already feel robbed about this) but I noticed that it says CEC Not Met?

How is this possible? It's driving me nuts and I can't sleep at night :(

Anybody has any clue on what's happening here please?

Thanks in advance and your insight is very much appreciated.

You start losing points every year once you hit 30.

Your Canadian work experience should be acquired within the past 3 years. You said July 2017, it’s outside the 3 years requirement already.

Thanks for your response.
So, they don't consider the 2017. What about my work experience from 2018 onwards? Based on what I submitted, I was working full time from Jan 2018-Oct 2018, and part time from June 2019 until now. It's at least 15 months of full time work!

Hm, should still be okay. Was your work experience from Jan 2018 to October 2018, lumped together with your experience in 2017? I’m just guessing if the system didn’t consider your full time work experience altogether. Your part time work from June 2019 should be considered under CEC. Is it NOC 0, A or B?

Yes, it was from July 2017 to Oct 2018, not sseperate.

I just found out that the part time experience from June 2019 to present (level B) is not acceptqble for CEC as it's on a student visa.

Now I figured how I got screwed over :(

I see. Yeah, work experience under student permit is not counted under CEC.

But refering to the requirements, it says "have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years before you apply".

I met this requirement when I submitted my application in Nov 2020 because it doesn't say anything about "after applying", it only says "before you apply". It means it stays in that point in time when I applied.

It doesn't make any sense to me.

Do you know how I can get some answeres?! Who to email? This is so unfair!!

I think the “before you apply” here is after getting an ITA and before you submit your PR application and get an (Acknowledgement of Receipt) AOR. Not when you submit a profile to the EE pool as you’re still not considered a PR applicant but a candidate waiting to be picked up from the pool. It is your responsibility to make sure that your EE profile is up to date and valid.

All should be valid at AOR, as that’s when everything gets locked.

Dude, you are confusing 'Submitting A Profile' in the Express Entry (EE) pool (≠ to Applying) with actually applying.
Applying is receiving an ITA after one round of invitation and submitting a complete application including payments of corresponding fees and receiving Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR)

Did you Apply or simple created a profile and entered the EE pool????

You are responding to an older thread. What is your full profile? What are the dates you worked in Canada or are working in Canada? What permit are you on. You don't get Canadian experience if a student in Canada.

Thank you for your quick response!

yes, I am currently working in Canada. I moved to Canada last year January 2021, I am working for a software MNC company and that was a payroll transfer.
I have around 9 years of knowledge in India in the same profile.
I am currently holding a work permit and have never held student visa and never enrolled for any education in Canada

What is your NOC? Do you have ECA and IELTS? So you are LMIA exempt and would need a job offer stating you have a job one year past PR.
