CEC - Cook position

Hi there,

I studied computer programming in my country and worked as a computer programmer for 2 years then I came to Canada and completed Computer Networking and Technical Support at Seneca College about 2 years ago.

However I ended up to work as a cook (40 hrs per week / $ 13 per hour) at the restaurant and have been working for almost a year and planning to create EE Profile soon.

Am I okay to apply for CEC as a cook even though my previous background is completely different??

Will I be able to gain scores for the experiences that I had in my country as a computer programmer even though I am working as cook??

Please help and advise.

Yes, and this question has been answered many times on this forum. As long as your work experience qualifies (NOC A/B/00) then claim it.

You'll be happy to learn that cooks were the fourth most common occupation for PR candidates in 2016.
