I was working on work permit since Dec 2018 and then applied PR in CEC category in January 2020. Due to family reason I have to move back to India along with my wife and kid. Due to Covid pandemic, I was unable to travel to Canada for next 5 months and my work permit also got expired during that tenure.
In Dec 2020, I got my PR approved and they gave me one month of COPR and letter of confirmation that I am now permanent resident. They were under assumption that I am still in Canada hence they asked me to contact to etobicoke landing center for next steps. When I contacted Etobicoke landing center atating my situation that I am currently out of Canada they asked me to contact when I am ready to travel. Recently when situation got better, I contacted Etobicoke center asking for Visa to travel to Canada as I dont have PR card and my COPR ended in Jan 2021 so they told me that they can only help me when I am in Canada and I should contact IRCC only. I contacted IRCC via webform explaining everything and I got a standard response from IRCC today mentioning they will post new guidelines for folks whose COPR expired.
My question now is that how will IRCC contact me when they firstly assumed that I was already in Canada and they directly approved my PR. So they might asdume my case as different and may not contact me for expired COPR as the status of my application on IRCC website is still showing that PR is approved. I neither want them to think that I denied the PR and I want to come to Canada asap. Please help!!!
