Greetings everyone!

I've sent off my CEC application and am interested in applying for the BOWP.

I think I received my AOR yesterday, it was just an email from the 'Centralized Intake Office' with an application number and a few sentences that say:

'Upon review of the information you have provided, your application is considered complete based upon the requirements of the Instructions and Regulation 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).
Your application will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing. '

Is this definately the AOR?????

Next, I had a look at starting an online application to apply for the BOWP, I did the questionnaire thing and it told me that I might be eligible for the Open Work Permit.

However, when I looked at the online application form and wanted to see what supporting documents are required. It just asks for a digital photo and copy of my passport, it doesn't say anything about attaching my most recent work permit or my AOR?

Did I do something wrong?

Hi Pete,

Firstly, congrats for receiving your AOR. Yes - that is the Acknowledgement letter - one of the 4 requirements to qualify for BOWP.

In required docs list, it does ask for your most recent Work Permit (as far as i recall). Regardless, you can attach it among other documents. AOR is not mentioned in the list, because the officer will look at your profile in the database to double check all the info and will see that an AOR was sent to you. If the questionnaire ended with providing a link to the form:IMM5710E - then i DONT think you did anything wrong.

Some of the members in this forum have expressed that it would just make it easier for the officer, if you attach the AOR copy as well. Some suggested this because they have received contradicting information from the CIC call center about BOWP. Perhaps because its a very recent initiative.

In any case, it can only do good if you print a copy of your AOR email along with the following page on cic website regarding BOWP criteria:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob485.asp

You can write a short cover letter clearly stating that you have received your AOR on your CEC application and would like to apply for a BOWP. Convert all these files into pdf and then merge them and then upload it on the MyCIC as one file.

All the best.
