Hello

I started working full time in August 2013, but was working at a part time position for four months before that.

I worked four months part time after my work permit arrived. Because of the increased number of applications in my field (sub cap about to fill up), I am thinking of attaching my part time experience.

Will I be able to apply with my part time experience ? How will the hours count ?

Check the below link. 1560 hour of work exp counts towards 1 year exp. Do your math.

As long as you have gained the required work experience on an authorized permit, then you can include it in your CEC application.

You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week.

May I advise you to complete 12 months with your fulltime job..otherwise you might come back to sit and stressfull after you submitted application.
come down and organize step by step...Please do not rush yourself with timing.

Mawin -- I was actually planning to apply with experience from my full time job, but because of the sub cap being about reach its limit, I am thinking of combining my part time and full time experience as well.

Thank you for your reply.

Hey, if my full time job has 35 hours per week, will all these hours count towards experience ?

To rephrase, in order to complete 1560 hours, will 35 hours count or only 30 out of 35 hours will be considered ?

You need to work for at least 30 hours a week (or equivalent when you're counting part-time work experience). If you work for more than 30 hours a week, you cannot use those extra hours to apply earlier. You must work for at least 30 hours a week over a 12 month period. No exceptions.

I'm not sure what this means. You should include it in any case.

When you are working part-time (fewer than 30 hours per week), it counts, but it's prorated - basically, count up all the part time hours and divide by 30, that's the full-time equivalent that you will be credited with. But if you only worked 4 months part-time, that will not meet the 1 year FT requirement.

I suggest trying to get your application in before the cap is reached.

I got all the documents ready for CEC application, started filling the forms. I have no dependents, so do I need to attach dependent form or no. Can some one suggest me regarding.
