Currently out of status, applied for restoration before 90 days, got ITA to apply for PR while out of status, and applied, so hope everything is ok there?

Will the PR decision not be finalized until Status is restored? Also if ROS gets refused, will PR get refused as well?

PR and Visa are two different departments. I am just not sure if you can apply for PR "within Canada" while out of status.

Does any one know about this? Any help would be much appreciated.
Why don't you call CIC directly? And why have you applied without knowing the answer? It's money wasted.

My friend has fallen in a situation. His work permit has expired one month ago. However, he got the provincial nomination, and also got the invitation to apply for permanent residence through express entry. Now he is out of status.

Will it be a problem if he submits his application for permanent residence now? Because his concern is he is now out of status in Canada. Will this status affect his application?

Any guidance/ assistance/ comment will be highly appreciated.

Thank you all in advance.

I think, Schedule A asks you for the countries you visited / lived in the past and had valid status in.

Yes, and i have included Out of Status details in it.
I hope, you have at least explained that you applied for reconsideration and cannot therefore leave the country at this time.

Are you absolutely sure one can't leave the country while awaiting status to get restored?

I was thinking of withdrawing my CEC PR application and leaving Canada while still ROS application is in play.

Go back to my home country and reapply for PR. Explain all scenario to CIC.

Please let me know. Thanks!

YES! I called CIC regarding this last week, and she told me to stay in Canada while your status is being restored. CIC has no reason to believe that you will return and no desire to keep the visa on hold until you decide to come back. You leave, you're out, you don't need a visa! Simple. It will be refused and the gap between that and your previous visa is "being in Canada without status", hence illegal. But who knows, maybe another agent will tell you something else. At least, for me, above made sense.

Please, call CIC and ask. You seem very uncertain and start too many things that you are not sure of, like applying for PR and withdrawing it.

But even if I stay and it gets refused, it will still be : out of status for the period I applied to the period I got rejected. Hence, illegal?

Please, call them on Monday. I don't know about this particular situation. But asking for restoration and then kind of showing disrespect in leaving the country is not a good idea, unless you can prove that a family member is sick or dying. These are exceptions where CIC may grant you.
