hi everyone,

I have been looking number of application accepted on the cic website on daily basis. Till yesterday the automobile technician has 32 accepted applications. I checked today and there were only 18 applications accepted. why do you think number went down? it means 14 files got approved or refused?

please clarify it

My guess but I might be wrong too - The AOR is generated but application is returned due to some reasons ( failure in ELIG/MEDICALS) so to maintain caps returned application has been decreased from the count as 2014 is about to finish along with it lot of applications are already finalized.

From CIC website (Federal Skilled Workers category but the same idea as CEC I guess)

Due to the large number of applications we get, we cannot check that each one is complete on the same day it gets to the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but are only a guide. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it gets to the Centralized Intake Office.

It means that cap number is a number of complete application received by CEC (not those which received AOR).

I found information from CEC some time ago but don't remember where. it was written that:

If the application is accepted at first and than the candidate is rejected because of some reason, the cap number stays the same. It won't be reduced by the number of application declined during the process.
The cap shows only complete applications accepted right after they come to Sidney.

Agree. one more thing i can think of atleast, Caps shows the number of applications on or after May 1st, And CIC hasn't even started processing or they just started, and there is no point of rejection being the reason for decrease in cap numbers.

One of the other contributing reasons, would be correction of incorrectly (used) classified NOC!! This happens in many cases.

Thx

Looking at the numbers decreased in catagory "B", i dont think CIC found that many errors in files. their listing for now is completely unpredictable.
processing for new applicants is slow and the process after eligibility is getting quicker.
