Hi All,
I have a couple questions about LMIA. I’m currently on a IEC and I’m literally in the process of doing my CEC application. I’ve done the celpip test and got the ECA sorted for my degree I obtained in England.
I already have a permenant job here in Canada. In the work experience section, where it asks do I have a valid job offer I should state NO right? As technically it’s not a job offer.
Following on from that, as I fill in my past work experience in Canada:
- I worked for one employer between July 2016-Feb 2017
- Current job Feb 2017 - Present
It gives me the option:
- work permit required / LMIA required
- Work permit required / No LMIA required
- Can’t remember the 3rd option
Do I need a LMIA?? My HR say no. On the CIC website I read IEC work permits are LMIA exempt. Does that apply to the CEC application? Honestly I’m a little confused.
Please advise. Any advice would be much appreciated
