Yes, it could. You need to have worked for 24 months AND have 3900 hours of skilled work within a 3 year period. So it might take you a couple of additional months after the first 24 to gain the required number of hours to qualify.can123 said:Hi there,
I just read the CEC requeirements. I have a concern about Full-Time work experience means working at least 37.5 paid hours per week. My Full - Time work hours is only 35 per week and I am wondering if this could disqualify me?
Thanks in advance
Hey pongpong, vacation is always paid and it's not going to matter at all. But if you took leave of absence than it may matter. But remember extra 2 weeks leave of absence doesnt really matter in the grand scheme. the officer wouldn't refuse you because of that and i must also mention that your company is not goignt o specifically tell them that he took two extra weeks off in bold words. So as long as you were employed you are good. As long as you didn't take 2 months off and it is very obvious in your tax deductions and your yearly salary is awfully off. It is not going to matter. I just used common sense and it makes sense to me. Good Luck!pongpong said:Jes i have a question for you. My current position right now is FOOD SERVICE SUPERVISOR. I will be finishing my 2 years on february 8, 2012, i work full time (40hrs per week) sometimes more.We already renewed my cotract and that is for 1 more year and im still waiting for my new work permit, hopefully i get it this month. In my contract, im intitled for 2 weeks vacation every year. Last 2010 i went for 1 month vacation and last year 2011, i went for 2 weeks vacation. So, do you think when can i submit my application? some people say i can submit it before february 8 cos they will open my document probably after a month or more and by that time i will be over 2 years and besides i will be getting my new work permit and that is for my 3rd year food service supervisor. If i get my new work permit next week, it means im secured to work for 1 more year as a food service supervisor. Please let me know when is the best date for me to submit my application. My papers are ready, im just waiting for the date. Thank you so much jes.

Those people are dead wrong, and if you listen to them, your application will be rejected. You MUST qualify BEFORE you submit your application. The date that your application is received by CIC is the "lock in" date, it does not matter when it is "opened" or added to the system, the date received is recorded. If you have not completed 24 full months of work experience at that time, you will be evaluated as not having met the requirements. As well, your letter of employment should also indicate that you have completed 2 years...
This is very clearly stated in the instructions-
"- must have the qualifying work and study experience needed at the time the application is made,"
